MANIFOLDMANIFOLD
An in-house film exploring how higher-dimensional forms might intersect with our world, visualised through geometric projections that drive the motion of fabric over time.

The project began as an exploration of how higher-dimensional forms might reveal themselves within a three-dimensional world.
Inspired by the directness of early computing, where data and hardware felt closely linked, the aim was to translate an abstract concept into something visible. Rather than explaining the idea, the work focuses on how these interactions might be experienced.

We built the film around the idea of intersection.
Geometric forms pass through a surface, and their projected data drives the behaviour of fabric over time. As these intersections change, the surface responds, creating a continuous relationship between rigid structure and fluid motion.
The system is designed to evolve frame by frame, allowing the fabric to react to shifting inputs rather than follow a fixed animation. This creates a sense of cause and effect, where unseen structures influence what is visible.

The film presents an abstract idea through a clear visual relationship.
By linking geometry and motion, the work shows how something unseen can still have a direct and visible impact, grounding a complex concept in a simple interaction.
