THE GAME AWARDSTHE GAME AWARDS
A promotional film for The Game Awards, built around the idea of “Games Come Alive”, where real-world environments begin to break down and reveal the systems beneath them.

The Game Awards required a promotional film to build anticipation for the live event.
Based on the concept “Games Come Alive”, the aim was to shift perspective. Rather than presenting games at the surface level, the film needed to suggest the systems, structure and craft that sit behind them.

We built the film around a transition from real-world environments into something less stable.
Scenes constructed from photogrammetry begin to break down, revealing underlying systems and generative structures. This shift is treated as a gradual disruption, where the world feels increasingly controlled by something beneath the surface.
A series of adaptable visual treatments were developed to respond to each scene, allowing the same idea to carry across multiple environments. Subtle references to different eras of game graphics are embedded throughout, reinforcing the theme without becoming overt.

The film presents games as layered systems rather than static experiences.
By moving from the familiar into something more abstract, the work reframes how the viewer understands game worlds, aligning with the broader aim of celebrating the craft behind them.
